POSITION SUMMARY:
Our bookkeeper is responsible for various bookkeeping functions of the department, including but not limited to bank reconciliations, invoicing, data entry, weekly deposits, and general ledger reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Reconciles all company bank accounts: payroll, general, and advance

Researches outstanding checks

Maintains signature cards on all bank accounts; notifies bank when employees terminate

Prepares weekly miscellaneous deposits and posts to accounting software

Transfers billing into accounting software daily

Prepares invoices, posts cash receipts, sends out monthly statements, answers phone, and assists customers as necessary

Enters payroll checks into accounting software after each payroll

Reconciles general ledger for each of the following accounts and researches any discrepancies (monthly): 401k, 125 Cafeteria Plan, Employee Advances, Cobra

Prepares banking report (semi-annually)

Performs any other duties delegated by management

Adheres to company policies and guidelines

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two (2) years of bookkeeping experience is required.
EDUCATION:
-
A high school education is required.

Some accounting courses preferred, such as budget analysis, payroll taxation, and general finance.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE:
No certifications, licenses, or insurance are required.
KNOWLEDGE:
-
Understanding of accounting terminology, procedures, and processes is necessary.

Understanding of basic accounting is required, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Strong base in arithmetic and algebra; familiar with statistics
