POSITION SUMMARY:

Our bookkeeper is responsible for various bookkeeping functions of the department, including but not limited to bank reconciliations, invoicing, data entry, weekly deposits, and general ledger reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reconciles all company bank accounts: payroll, general, and advance

  • Researches outstanding checks

  • Maintains signature cards on all bank accounts; notifies bank when employees terminate

  • Prepares weekly miscellaneous deposits and posts to accounting software

  • Transfers billing into accounting software daily

  • Prepares invoices, posts cash receipts, sends out monthly statements, answers phone, and assists customers as necessary

  • Enters payroll checks into accounting software after each payroll

  • Reconciles general ledger for each of the following accounts and researches any discrepancies (monthly): 401k, 125 Cafeteria Plan, Employee Advances, Cobra

  • Prepares banking report (semi-annually)

  • Performs any other duties delegated by management

  • Adheres to company policies and guidelines

EXPERIENCE:
    A minimum of two (2) years of bookkeeping experience is required.
   
EDUCATION:

  • A high school education is required. 

  • Some accounting courses preferred, such as budget analysis, payroll taxation, and general finance.

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE:
      No certifications, licenses, or insurance are required.
   
KNOWLEDGE:

  • Understanding of accounting terminology, procedures, and processes is necessary.

  • Understanding of basic accounting is required, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

  • Strong base in arithmetic and algebra; familiar with statistics
