POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the files after they have "closed" -responsible for sending all of the stipulations and documents that are requested in a timely manner to required entities. In addition, the person in this position sends documents back to the borrowers that were not signed and/or incorrect at the real estate settlement closing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Receive, verify, process and submit a variety of documents which may include deed, mortgages, releases, power of attorneys and other documents necessary for completed real estate transactions.

  • Review signed settlement documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with closing instructions and secure missing signatures or additional documents, as needed.

  • Ship files via electronic upload/overnight delivery to parties to the transaction and cure any post-closing issues that may arise.

  • Accurately calculate recording costs for various documents (deeds, assignments, POAs, releases, etc.)

  • Understand and comply with county requirements for recording, including the creation of cover sheets.

  • Submit documents to recording within defined SLA's.  Create checks in system to proper recording authority. 

  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders including but not limited to internal operations teams, county clerks and title agent.

  • Field inbound calls regarding post-closing issues or funding inquiries.

  • Coordinate with funding team to resolve any stale dated funds, escrow holdbacks, or trial balances within the file post-closing as directed by title agent.

  • Complete data entry for final title policies as directed by title agent.  

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required, Baccalaureate degree preferred.

  • 2+ years’ experience with title or closing company.

  • Work under general supervision.

  • Strong customer service skills required.

  • National purchase closing experience preferable.

  • Experience utilizing ResWare or similar closing software preferred.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present issues, ideas and recommendations in verbal, written and presentation formats.

  • Highly motivated, inquisitive, self-started with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, ability to high volume and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

  • Capable of generating a high degree of respect and trust to develop, maintain strong relationships with business partners across all levels of stakeholders.
